Thank you to all who volunteered this past Saturday for our Fall Food Drive at Stop & Shop in Kinnelon. A special thank you to Monty Dellapi, DGK for organizing the event. We were also proud to have Brother Ed Lane's son Allen and his grandchildren, Connor and Alex, helping us out. The event was a great success, but the numbers speak for themselves:
2,700 lbs of food collected
$589 in cash donations
Both amounts set new records for food and cash collected. All proceeds are given to the St. Joseph Cares Food Pantry which serves needy families in West Milford Township and is committed to the mission that no one in our community should go hungry.
Once again, thank you to everyone who participated either through volunteering or donating to this worthy cause.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Brother Ed Lane, PGK. Ed has been a member of the Council for over 35 years and Financial Secretary for the last 30. All of the many contributions Ed has made to the Council during this time are too long to list, but it can simply be said, “whenever anybody needed help or whenever something needed to get done, Ed was there.”
Lane, Edwin E., 72, on October 8, 2016. Ed was the beloved husband of Mary A. “Maureen” (Whooley) and the son of the late Concetta (Chessari) and Edwin B. Lane. Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Allen E. and his wife Lynda, and his daughter, Sharon Magner and her husband Jeff. He is also survived by his two brothers, Anthony and Richard. He was a loving grandfather who cherished his four grandchildren, Connor and Alexander Lane and Johnny and Molly Magner. He was a caring husband, father, grandfather and brother as well as an active member of his community who will be greatly missed.

The Fr. Francis Koch Council is introducing a brand new website. The new website is just the first iteration of what will grow into a rich information center for the council. It starts with much of the same information that could be found on the old site, but adds new items such as a comprehensive news feed, interactive council calendar and notification subscriptions which automatically send emails when new content is published. It also provides integration with the council's new social media presence of Facebook and Twitter. Future enhancements will include a photo gallery, event sign-up and much, much more.
We are looking for your feedback on the new site, so please comment on this post or use the "Send Feedback and Corrections" option at the bottom of every page.
